I’m a professional and award winning newborn, maternity, baby and family photographer. I have been a professional photographer for the Edmonton area for nine years now and still love every minute of what I do. I have loved photography since studying journalism in 2003 and jumped into a career of photography after a dear friend asked me to photograph her newborn back in 2015. Capturing fleeting moments for families brings me so much joy, I know that this was the job I was born to do.
As much as I love being a photographer, my first love will always be my family. I am married to the most supportive hard working man and we have been blessed with three beautiful daughters who light up our world. We love to travel and are a big Disney family, I am always working towards that next Disney trip. At home every Friday is movie night and we love exploring all the gorgeous trails in our small town just west of the city. Summer days are always spent down by the river which is only a short drive from our house.
Being a mom I am constantly trying to hold onto every moment. This is what I love so much about photography. Capturing the fleeting moments of a newborn, a busy toddler, couples and families in love and having fun. Moments that tell a story that you can share with generations to come.
My goal in every session is to capture the authenticity of your family, the love and connections that truly speak to you and make you feel something long after your session. I also specialize in providing all of my clients with heirloom quality prints and products, because I believe a photo isn’t a memory until printed. Newborn Photography Experience
I have been safely photographing newborns for 9 years. I have loved babies for as long as I can remember. Growing up I was lucky to have two baby brothers born a year apart when I was eleven and twelve years old. They both came home as tiny 4 lb. preemies and I could always be caught snuggling them whenever I had the chance. I knew from that age I wanted to be a mom and once I had my own 3 girls and knew I was done having kids that I would need another way to carry on my love for babies.
Newborn photography has brought me so much joy, it’s hard to put into words. As a mom I know how fleeting the newborn phase and first year is and I know that I am providing an experience that I know will mean so much to families for generations. Photographing newborns safely has always been my number one priority. I have a sick policy and am always closely monitoring mine and my family’s health closely. Posing a baby takes skill, time and patience, but most importantly baby should always be posed safely. I will always involve parents in poses that require a spotter (dad’s usually love that part of the session!) and I never put a baby in a position or prop that isn’t comfortable and secure.
The most amazing part of being a newborn photographer is the opportunity to always learn and grow. I am always learning and have been lucky enough to learn from the best including Kelly Brown when I attended her in person workshop in Toronto in 2020, and hands on training with Amy McDaniel from Dewdrops Photography in Olympia, Washington not once, but twice - most recently in early 2023.
