Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Rowan} Sneak Peek

January was one of my busiest starts to the year ever, so I am looking forward to a bit of a slow down this month to catch up on editing, do some learning as well as a bit more teaching. Also, getting my new in home studio ready to start booking newborn and milestone sessions beginning this spring! My husband (how did I get so lucky?) has been busy painting this week, you can follow the progress over on Instagram. I can't wait to blog a studio tour once it is all done! If you are interested in knowing more about my in-studio pricing and looking to book from mid-March on, please contact me. Hoping to have my all new packages listed on the website soon! Also if you haven't yet, be sure to join my VIP Facebook group where I will be announcing a newborn model call soon, as well as some special giveaways, photography tips and more.

I met this beautiful family just before Christmas for Lisa's in home maternity session, and was so excited to hear that they welcomed a baby boy in the new year, Rowan, a little brother for big sister Maci. I don't think I have ever had an easier family to photograph, their love for each other just poured into every shot and they are all so laid back in front of the camera, such a joy to capture. Seeing the bond between siblings grow so early on is so precious and little Maci sure adores her brother; I am so lucky to be witness to such special moments in families lives. Lisa & Byron, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture this fleeting time. Wishing you all the best as a family of four. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Madelyn} Sneak Peek

Late night post once again, but this month has been so full that I am surprised I am not more behind on posts! It is just impossible to find time to work during the day right now with my youngest hitting the absolutely peek of terrible twos! This January has also been my busiest yet, thank you!  So many squishy new years babies, as well as some new adventures.

I wanted to write a whole post about how I have really had an amazing start to 2018 by stepping out of my comfort zone, something that I am starting to realize is one of the most empowering things you can do for yourself, but I didn't want to put off anymore sneak peeks that I know are being patiently waited for. This past weekend I taught my first photography class - something that if you asked me even five years ago if I would do I would say you couldn't pay me enough; I started off a bit nervous, but by then end of the class I felt so comfortable and I was already looking forward to my next class. Then I had a really amazing mom boss moment the other day when I bought my first vehicle all on my own, something that might not seem like a big deal, but it means that I have reached financial independence as a business owner, and it felt amazing. Plus it's a mini van - a luxury vehicle when you are a mom of three! All in all it has been an amazing start to 2018 and I am so excited to see where the rest of this year takes me.

I was lucky to meet sweet little Madelyn a couple weeks ago; I had met her parents earlier this winter for a maternity session and was so excited to hear they had welcomed a little girl. After getting completely lost on my way to the session, thanks google maps, I finally arrived to find just the most wide eyed baby girl all ready for her close ups. After some shots with mom, dad and even grandma who was visiting from out east, I definitely had to work to get some sleepy shots of this little lady who was definitely happier in mom or dad's arms. Sometimes sessions take more patience and time than others, but the love and wonder that surrounds a first baby is so beautiful to capture and I always feel so lucky to photograph these fleeting moments for families. J & M, thank you for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture this special time. Wishing you all the best as a family of three. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Maternity, Fresh 48 and Newborn Photographer {Baby Taylor}

This January has been my busiest January yet, and it will only get busier as the month ends. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to believe how far I have come with my photography business the past three years. I am starting to see families that I captured that first year again for the arrival of their second or third baby, and it is so rewarding. I just love watching your families grow. 2018 is looking like an incredible year and it is booking up incredibly fast. If you are expecting anytime in 2018 or are looking for spring or summer family photos, now is definitely the best time to book as I have very limited availability. Be sure to check back here next week as I have some exciting news to share about my studio and new newborn packages as well as a fresh 48 giveaway on Instagram - I can't wait!

I met Jill and Steve back in 2015 before the arrival of their first daughter Alexis in the spring of 2016. After having the honour of capturing Alexis's first year, as well as many many mini sessions in between, I was ecstatic when Jill told me she was expecting again this winter. Sweet little Taylor, a baby sister for Alexis, was the first new years baby girl born at the Sturgeon hospital in St. Albert. I was so honoured to be asked to photograph whole story of Taylor's arrival which included a maternity session just before Christmas, a fresh 48 session at 24 hours old and a newborn session at 11 days - such a beautiful story that I was so lucky to capture.

Taylor looks so much like her sister did as a newborn, but is even more of a spitting image of her mama. She definitely made me work for every posed shot at the end of her newborn session, but I couldn't have asked for better company while I worked. I am so excited to watch another Webb baby girl grow up as I get to also capture Taylor's first year, so many memories that both Jill and Steve and the girls will always treasure, such fleeting moments in time. Jill and Steve, thank you so much for all of your incredible support from the beginning. Wishing you the very best as a family of four - I can't wait to see you and the girls again soon. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Simon} Sneak Peek

Barely two weeks into the year and I can't believe how fast my year is already booking up. Newborns and families booked into June, plus a new teaching schedule, family vacations and everything else in between. If you are looking to book a weekend family session this summer, I would definitely suggest booking sooner than later - those tend to book up just as fast as the parks Canada campsites do! And if you are expecting this spring or summer, or even sometime in February, booking early ensures that I can fit you in, I only take on 4-5 newborn sessions a month, just 3 over our busy summer months. If you were lucky enough to get a gift certificate this Christmas, I would also recommend booking as soon as possible. Fall is by far my busiest time of year, and I am hoping to make booking your fall family photos as easy as possible with a new feature on my website, watch for more about that this summer. As always, thank you all so much for the amazing support. I feel so blessed everyday to get to do a job that I love and I am so excited to have another successful year.

Sweet little Simon was my last newborn born in 2017, but with the rush of Christmas we waited to do his newborn session in the new year. I was greeted my the most friendly big brother and sister as soon as I arrived who were so excited to tell me all about their Christmas.  Everyone was so laid back that our session flowed so effortlessly, family photos, photos of mom and dad with Simon and some posed photos of Simon in the most gorgeous natural light. Simon was definitely more pleased being all wrapped up, and he slept like an angel once he was. Families of five or more are becoming favourites of mine, probably because they remind me of my own, but mostly because there is nothing like watching older siblings look at their new baby brother of sister with so much love, it melts my heart every time. Pam and Daniel, thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture this special time for your family. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton & Area Newborn Photographer {Baby Reagan} Sneak Peek

Happy new year everyone! I hope that you all had a nice relaxing Christmas and were able to spend time with the ones you hold dearest. After what was the worst flu season for our family in early December, we had a wonderful Christmas, especially Christmas Day which we spent all alone at home in our pjs all day...and drinking a few coffees with baileys. I am so excited and optimistic about 2018, and am looking forward to photographing so many families again this year. Very soon I will be announcing the opening of a new home studio, as well as some new newborn packages, and hopefully by February a brand new website. Also offering $100 off in home sessions booked for this January and February - spaces are booking up fast so book your spot soon!

My last session of 2017 was of just the most adorable family of five, who just like me, now have three sweet girls. Little Reagan joined the family just in time for Christmas, a Christmas that I am sure they will hold dear in their hearts for years to come. Mom warned me that her babies are always wide awake for their newborn photos, but after a few wide eyed shots little Reagan drifted off to sleep and was just a doll for me. The love that surrounds a new baby, especially in the comfort of home, absolutely fills my heart with so much joy, I am so thankful to get to do what I do. Robyn & Mat, thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture this special time. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy. {K}
