Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Madelyn} Sneak Peek

Late night post once again, but this month has been so full that I am surprised I am not more behind on posts! It is just impossible to find time to work during the day right now with my youngest hitting the absolutely peek of terrible twos! This January has also been my busiest yet, thank you!  So many squishy new years babies, as well as some new adventures.

I wanted to write a whole post about how I have really had an amazing start to 2018 by stepping out of my comfort zone, something that I am starting to realize is one of the most empowering things you can do for yourself, but I didn’t want to put off anymore sneak peeks that I know are being patiently waited for. This past weekend I taught my first photography class – something that if you asked me even five years ago if I would do I would say you couldn’t pay me enough; I started off a bit nervous, but by then end of the class I felt so comfortable and I was already looking forward to my next class. Then I had a really amazing mom boss moment the other day when I bought my first vehicle all on my own, something that might not seem like a big deal, but it means that I have reached financial independence as a business owner, and it felt amazing. Plus it’s a mini van – a luxury vehicle when you are a mom of three! All in all it has been an amazing start to 2018 and I am so excited to see where the rest of this year takes me.

I was lucky to meet sweet little Madelyn a couple weeks ago; I had met her parents earlier this winter for a maternity session and was so excited to hear they had welcomed a little girl. After getting completely lost on my way to the session, thanks google maps, I finally arrived to find just the most wide eyed baby girl all ready for her close ups. After some shots with mom, dad and even grandma who was visiting from out east, I definitely had to work to get some sleepy shots of this little lady who was definitely happier in mom or dad’s arms. Sometimes sessions take more patience and time than others, but the love and wonder that surrounds a first baby is so beautiful to capture and I always feel so lucky to photograph these fleeting moments for families. J & M, thank you for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture this special time. Wishing you all the best as a family of three. Enjoy. {K}

    Beautiful! I love the forced perspective of the mother kissing her baby through, what I imagine to be anyway, the crib. Perfect!
