I design every session around your baby’s and mama’s comfort. Here’s a peek at what usually happens:
- The session takes place within the first 5–14 days after birth for those perfect sleepy poses
- We begin with baby-only portraits, followed by family and sibling shots
- I keep the studio warm and cozy, with white noise playing to soothe your baby.
- I use soft, safe materials and always ensure baby’s safety is my top priority
I also offer a wide variety of props and backdrops, but I love when families bring personal items like a hand-knit blanket or a special stuffy. These touches make your session even more meaningful.
📸 Emotional portraits: A client once brought their late father’s favorite ball cap. We wrapped the baby in a neutral wrap it and captured a deeply sentimental image that brought the family to tears.

- Step 1: You arrive with baby, and I begin the session with solo baby portraits while you enjoy a little “me time” pampering in the hair and makeup chair with a professional hair and makeup artist.
- Step 2: Once you’re ready and feeling fabulous, we move on to family portraits.
- Step 3: Your partner and any siblings arrive only when it’s time for their photos, making their time in the studio short, sweet, and efficient—perfect for busy families or little ones with limited patience.
📸 Mama and Baby: One mom shared afterward that she hadn’t worn makeup in months and almost cried when she saw herself in the mirror—glowing and confident—holding her newborn. Those portraits became her absolute favorite.
This thoughtful session flow not only results in gorgeous, relaxed images, but also helps moms feel seen, cared for, and celebrated—because you deserve that, too.
What Should You Bring?
Honestly, not much!

You’re welcome to bring sentimental items—like a family heirloom or a favorite book—to incorporate into the session. Otherwise, just bring your baby, a few diapers, and any feeding necessities.
📸 Behind-the-Scenes Glimpse: During one session, the parents brought in their wedding dress to pose around their daughter for a dreamy, angelic photo. It turned out to be the showstopper image of the entire gallery and I was so happy they ordered a canvas print to display their home.
When Will You Get Your Photos?
You will receive your online proof gallery 2-7 days following sessions. Your purchased digital images will be professionally edited and delivered within 2-3 days. I offer a variety of packages that include digital files, heirloom albums, and fine art prints so you can showcase your baby’s portraits in your home however you’d like. Artwork is hand delivered to your home in 3-4 weeks.

How Much Does Newborn Photography Cost?
Newborn photography is a specialized art that takes time, care, and skill. At my studio, session pricing including session fee & images purchased typically ranges from $600 to $3,000, depending on your chosen images.
