One of the most common questions I hear as an Edmonton Newborn photographer is, “Is my baby too big for studio photos?” The answer is—absolutely not! Studio Newborn Portraits

Right on time, Baby Nathan arrived—a healthy 9-pound newborn! While some parents worry that a bigger baby might not fit into traditional newborn setups, I always reassure them that every baby, no matter their size, is perfect for newborn portraits. At just one week old, Nathan visited my West Edmonton photography studio for his newborn session. His big sister, three-year-old Evelyn, was full of energy and curiosity, making for some truly heartwarming sibling photos. Evelyn, with her full head of dark hair and big brown eyes, is her mama’s twin, while little Nathan is the spitting image of his dad. Capturing their bond and the love between siblings made this session even more special.

Perfectly Sized Props

The session featured cozy, carefully designed setups that perfectly highlighted Nathan’s tiny features and adorable chubby cheeks. Each setup was thoughtfully chosen to capture the warmth and sweetness of his first days. Throughout most of the session, Nathan slept peacefully, allowing me to focus on capturing every precious moment. I was able to create a beautiful gallery of images, filled with details that his family will treasure forever. These portraits will serve as a timeless reminder of how small and delicate he was at the start of his journey.
