Edmonton Milestone Photographer {Miguel is One} Sneak Peek

Hooray, it's April and this long winter is hopefully going to end very soon. I am so excited to announce that my home studio is officially open and that I am booking 2018 newborn and milestone sessions now! To celebrate I am offering $100 off any April newborn session (session to take place in April). Newborn sessions can now take place in the comfort of your home or in my cozy in home studio located in Devon, Alberta, about 20 minutes southwest of Edmonton. You can see my updated pricing for studio and in home newborn sessions here. I also offer milestone mini sessions for babies 6 months, 1 and 2 years old, contact me for more info. 

I absolutely love when my newborn families come to see me for their little one's first birthday photos, now offered in my home studio for easy set up and clean up. Little Miguel was the sweetest newborn, so I couldn't wait to see how much he had grown, and oh my, he is just the most handsome one year old little man now, all that hair! He wasn't the biggest fan of his cake, but the bubble bath at the end of the session was a hit, especially since mom and dad thought to bring bubbles, so much fun. Edmonton & Area Family Photographer {Vaughn is one} Sneak Peek

This past spring we moved out to Devon, a little town just outside of Edmonton. We were drawn to the big lots, beautiful parks and trails and just the small town way of life. My business started in Edmonton, and I have been lucky to photograph many families from Edmonton and  surrounding areas, areas which I continue to serve. My goal this year though is definitely to reach my small town market and photograph families that call beautiful Devon home, or bring some Edmonton families out this way for a photoshoot down by the river, an absolutely gorgeous spot.

Lisa and Dallas grew up in Devon, but call the city home now. I was so excited when they suggested we do their session in Devon down in my favourite spot - Voyageur Park. They have had many special times here, so it seemed fitting to do their little guy Vaughn's first birthday photos here. We lucked out with a gorgeous evening full of light, and the park provided us with so many pretty backdrops from tree filled paths to the river that we of course dipped our toes into at the end. Vaughn was mister serious, but after some tosses in the air I was able to catch a couple sweet smiles, not that it mattered as he was so handsome with his big blue eyes and little bow tie. Edmonton & Area Milestone Photographer {Maisie First Birthday} Sneak Peek

Milestones like first birthdays and anniversaries are a perfect time for family photos. First birthday sessions can be photos of just baby, a mix of family and baby or just family photos.  Anniversary can be of just the happy couple or of an whole extended family. The perfect way to capture a special time that you won't want to forget. 

I met this adorable family on a sunny morning in one of my favorite spots in St. Albert. Little Maisie was a sweet as any almost 1 year old, full of smiles the day before she was to to turn one. Big brother took some convincing, but nothing some tickles couldn't fix. {K} family, thank you so much for having me capture your family during this special time. Edmonton & Area Milestone Photographer {Evan First Birthday} Sneak Peek

Ok, I am officially in love with outdoor cake smashes. There is something just so sweet about a baby digging into a cake out in nature with birds and squirrels chirping in the background; there is something so Bambi about them..my favorite Disney movie by the way. I wish I could offer these all year long, but May to October (if we are lucky) will be the only time I can shoot them. I have temporarily stopped doing indoor/on location cake smashes until January 2018 (except for families who have already booked a 2017 cake smash session) when I hope to have my home studio ready to go. I am planning on doing posed newborn mini sessions as well as milestone sessions up to the age of one in my home studio - I am so excited to release details later this year.

I met this adorable family earlier this summer for a lifestyle session in their home. I would love to take credit for this adorable set up, but mom Brianne brought most of the props and picked the sweet Spruce Grove location. If you remember how gorgeous their home was decorated from their lifestyle session sneak peek, you would understand, this family has some seriously Pinterest worthy style. Little Evan wasn't too into his cake, but had lots of fun dipping his toes in and knocking it over a couple times. Hopefully when he turns one in a couple weeks he will have found his sweet tooth.
