Edmonton Family Photographer {S Family} Sneak Peek

Kelsie Kelly Photographer is growing. I have been so lucky to be a newborn and family photographer for the past three years; but while I have been so busy from the beginning, I have not built a business that can remain sustainable for years to come. Deciding to start a photography business came from my love of both children and photography, but was also the best way for me to provide for my family while still being present for my three girls. In the past year, sadly, I have not been there for my girls as much as I want, all while not really providing an income that can support my family. So I came a turning point and decided now was the best time to raise my prices. I am still and will always be an all inclusive photographer, I love giving you all of the special memories I create for your family, but it will be at a price that will keep my business sustainable long term. I have some other exciting news to announce as well. In the spring of 2018 I will be opening my new home based studio where I will be offering mini posed newborn sessions, as well as milestone sessions up to age one. My husband is busy drawing up plans for all of my prop storage and backdrops;  I can't wait to share the progress with you in the new year. A new website is coming in January and galleries are once again going to be delivered on a USB. I am also so excited to be offering professional quality prints and custom albums that will be available to order directly from your online gallery. I think 2018 will be my best year yet!

A big reason that my business has been so busy the past three years is because of amazing families like this one that come back to me year after year and pass my name of to all of their friends. I photographed Najla and Geoff for maternity photos in this same spot the very first time I did fall mini sessions a few years ago. Now they are proud parents to busy little Aiden, who definitely doesn't want to sit still for photos now, but who is just the most adorable little guy ever. Edmonton & Area Newborn Photographer {Baby Makenna} Sneak Peek

Is it just me or is this summer flying by way too fast? I didn't really hit me until my daughter asked me how many days it was until her birthday and I realized it is only 2 weeks away - 2 weeks and my oldest daughter turns 8. Talk about time flying. 

I had the pleasure of photographing the newest addition to this family a couple weeks ago. Sweet little Makenna joins big brother Haestin who was to turn 2 the day after our session. Little Makenna was wide awake most of our session, but would close her eyes just long enough for me to get some sleepy shots.  Haestin was so sweet with her, full of kisses and cuddles for his new sister. I found out that this family is from the same small Alberta town as my husband, Peace River, so it was cool to chat about some of the common people we knew, even if they didn't recognize my husband's name;  small world we live in. Edmonton Family Photographer {Stuart Family} Sneak Peek

Well we made it home from a quick family trip down to beautiful Montana. We were able to visit family and enjoy some record breaking heat! I also got to photograph my first senior portrait session for my husband's cousin that I can't wait to share on the blog next week. All in all a great time! Now that we're home I have tons of blogging and editing to catch up on! Good thing the kids are off to camp next week. Thanks to everyone waiting for your patience.

I met this family a couple weeks ago, on a gorgeous summer night. Little Eleanor lit up the whole session with her sweet personality and smile. She will be one this month, so we took some birthday photos at the end with a big pink balloon! I just love incorporating props into family sessions. Megan and Jordan just adore their sweet baby and it showed in every single shot. Thank you both for having me capture your beautiful family. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn & family photographer {New Referral rewards}

I'll tell you a secret, running a business is scary. Two and half years ago I left a well paying stable job to become a full time photographer and business owner, and it is the scariest thing I have ever done. While I am so lucky to have an amazing husband that supports our family, we have three girls to take care of and that means I need to help provide for them. My family is getting ready to move to a new home in just over a week, so I have spent the past few weeks trying to capture as much as I can of them in the house we are in now. Here is a little snap shot of the time I get to spend with my girls thanks to all of you.

Edmonton Family Photographer {Ayla 9 months} Sneak Peek

It seems like yesterday I was capturing sweet little 6 week old Ayla with her mama for a mommy and me session. Fast forward almost 9 months and little Ayla is a busy little lady crawling around her beautiful new home. I love in home sessions, but this session took that love to a whole other level. Natural light from soaring windows, the ability to shoot from so many angles, this session was a dream! And to top it all off we ended our session with a stroll through the gorgeous Old Glenora neighbourhood among the epic hoar frost. Perfection!
