Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Evan} Sneak Peek

After a busy June so far I still can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of school for my kindergartener and there is only one week left for my 8 year old. Summer holidays is really when we can have the most fun as a family and I am looking forward to lazy mornings at home and afternoons spent outside. I take a bit of time off in July and August. so now is the best time to book your summer family session or newborn session. Summer is a great time for extended family sessions as you usually have family visiting or it's easier to get families that have kids usually busy during the school year together over the summer. July and August sessions are now 50$ off if booked before June 30, contact me for more info and availability.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself. I can't believe how lucky I am to get to photograph some of Edmonton's most beautiful families. I met this family a couple years ago after their first daughter was born and was thrilled when they hired me again to photograph their brand new baby boy. Little Evan was born just in time for me to get home from a long weekend away in Montana and photograph his fresh 48 session. Capturing those first days in hospital is such a joy for me as I know I am capturing such fleeting memories that fade as your babies grow.

I saw this gorgeous family again when Evan was just a couple weeks old and everyone was starting to get settled at home. Big sister Ayla was as sweet as always and just smitten with her baby brother. Little Evan was nice and sleepy for his posed photos but eyes wide at the end of the session, looking so grown up already, so adorable. I absolutely love photographing this family as their home has such beautiful natural light, it is really easy to shoot anywhere in the house, such a treat. Alison & Justin, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture this special time for you, looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Vinh} Sneak Peek

Late post tonight, sometimes technology fails me at the worst possible time! This month has been so busy behind the scenes. My new in home studio space is coming together and will be ready just in time for Easter Minis happening this Sunday...I can't wait. I have to thank my amazing husband who has spent so many hours sanding, painting and helping me build my dream in home studio, I am such a lucky lady. I am hoping to have my new website and packages that include in home, on location and studio pricing ready soon! Be sure to join my VIP group on Facebook though for the latest announcements as well as special introductory pricing and studio model calls.

I can't believe it was almost two summers ago that I first met this beautiful family to capture little Dresden turning one. I was happy to have the opportunity to photograph their growing family again with the arrival of baby Vinh, such a sweet baby boy. I am so lucky to be invited into families homes to capture such a special time, a fleeting time that passes so quickly but is so full of love and moments that you will want to hold onto forever. At just 5 days old, little Vinh was so sleepy for most of the session, so content in the arms of his mom or dad or snuggled up with his brother. Stephanie and Kevin, thank you for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture this special time, it was so nice seeing you all again. Wishing you all the best as a family of four. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Sirjanna} Sneak Peek

There are so many exciting things coming up for Kelsie Kelly Photographer I can hardly contain my excitement. My new in home studio is coming together beautifully and I am finalizing a date for a grand opening soon! With the new studio space I figured it was also a good time for a little bit of rebranding, so a new website is on the way soon too. I am so lucky that I have had this opportunity to grow my business, thank you to everyone for the amazing support. 2018 is going to be awesome. Have you joined my VIP group yet, lots of giveaways and model calls are coming up soon, don't miss out!

I met this beautiful baby girl earlier this year during one of my busiest months of newborn sessions. Sirjanna's mama contacted me after she arrived and I was so happy that I was able to fit them in last minute - sometimes you don't realize how special and fleeting those early days with baby are or booking a newborn session is the last thing on your mind when you are busy preparing for baby's arrival, but sometimes it's not too late. This little sweetheart had just the sweetest chubby cheeks, but was definitely happier in her mama's arms once she woke up, I definitely had to work hard for those sleepy shots.  Baljeet & Nirmaljit thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture this special time. Wishing you all the best as a family of three. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Rowan} Sneak Peek

January was one of my busiest starts to the year ever, so I am looking forward to a bit of a slow down this month to catch up on editing, do some learning as well as a bit more teaching. Also, getting my new in home studio ready to start booking newborn and milestone sessions beginning this spring! My husband (how did I get so lucky?) has been busy painting this week, you can follow the progress over on Instagram. I can't wait to blog a studio tour once it is all done! If you are interested in knowing more about my in-studio pricing and looking to book from mid-March on, please contact me. Hoping to have my all new packages listed on the website soon! Also if you haven't yet, be sure to join my VIP Facebook group where I will be announcing a newborn model call soon, as well as some special giveaways, photography tips and more.

I met this beautiful family just before Christmas for Lisa's in home maternity session, and was so excited to hear that they welcomed a baby boy in the new year, Rowan, a little brother for big sister Maci. I don't think I have ever had an easier family to photograph, their love for each other just poured into every shot and they are all so laid back in front of the camera, such a joy to capture. Seeing the bond between siblings grow so early on is so precious and little Maci sure adores her brother; I am so lucky to be witness to such special moments in families lives. Lisa & Byron, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture this fleeting time. Wishing you all the best as a family of four. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Simon} Sneak Peek

Barely two weeks into the year and I can't believe how fast my year is already booking up. Newborns and families booked into June, plus a new teaching schedule, family vacations and everything else in between. If you are looking to book a weekend family session this summer, I would definitely suggest booking sooner than later - those tend to book up just as fast as the parks Canada campsites do! And if you are expecting this spring or summer, or even sometime in February, booking early ensures that I can fit you in, I only take on 4-5 newborn sessions a month, just 3 over our busy summer months. If you were lucky enough to get a gift certificate this Christmas, I would also recommend booking as soon as possible. Fall is by far my busiest time of year, and I am hoping to make booking your fall family photos as easy as possible with a new feature on my website, watch for more about that this summer. As always, thank you all so much for the amazing support. I feel so blessed everyday to get to do a job that I love and I am so excited to have another successful year.

Sweet little Simon was my last newborn born in 2017, but with the rush of Christmas we waited to do his newborn session in the new year. I was greeted my the most friendly big brother and sister as soon as I arrived who were so excited to tell me all about their Christmas.  Everyone was so laid back that our session flowed so effortlessly, family photos, photos of mom and dad with Simon and some posed photos of Simon in the most gorgeous natural light. Simon was definitely more pleased being all wrapped up, and he slept like an angel once he was. Families of five or more are becoming favourites of mine, probably because they remind me of my own, but mostly because there is nothing like watching older siblings look at their new baby brother of sister with so much love, it melts my heart every time. Pam and Daniel, thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture this special time for your family. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Family Photographer {Bishop Family} Sneak Peek

It's officially the first day of fall. Does anyone else feel like this summer flew by way too fast? I am actually a fan of fall, the beautiful colors and being able to wear cozy sweaters everyday, but I hate knowing that our bitter cold Alberta winter is just mere months away and that my outdoor family sessions that I love shooting will start to slow down come November until next year.

Winter on the other hand is the perfect time for indoor lifestyle family sessions; I book these sessions year round, but winter is usually the busiest time. I do all of my newborn sessions in home and can tell you that doing a session in your home is a very laid back and fun experience. You can play board games, bake cookies, jump on the bed, or just snuggle your babies in bed while I capture some truly meaningful images that you will cherish as your children grow up and your home changes.

I have had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family for the past three years. Tamalea is one of my oldest friends, we have known each other since Kindergarten, so it is always wonderful to see her family and catch up every fall - though we really need to make an effort to get together more often! Little Maddox was a joy to capture as usual, he just has the cheekiest little grin, and Suri the family dog even gave me some great smiles. Papa even joined in this year, it was so nice to see you Leo. Tamalea and Matt, thank you so much for choosing me as your family photographer every year and for joining me in my little town this year for your photos. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Ryder} Sneak Peek

Wow was July ever a month of adorable babies. I had to go back and make sure I wasn't going in the wrong order of sneak peeks, because it seemed like I was doing a newborn session daily earlier this month. I appreciate everyone's patience waiting for their sneak peeks and galleries as summer is so busy with kids in camps and swimming lessons, birthdays, trips, and later bed times! Other than working all night it's hard to stay caught up!

Little Ryder was sound asleep when I arrived for his session, and big brother Bodie was too, so I worked a little bit backwards and started the session with his posed shots. I was so moved when the family asked if I would photograph Ryder with his late grandfather's hat; I love incorporating things that are meaningful to your family into my sessions. He looked so peaceful and tiny under that hat. After big brother woke up I made sure to give him a little bit of time getting used to me and my big camera, then moved onto some family shots. For a busy little 19 month old, Bodie did so well, such a sweet little guy. Even the family dog Digger made a photo op. Ashleigh and Shane thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture this special time with your boys. Wishing you all the best as a family of four. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Lyla} Sneak Peek

Wow, babies, babies and more babies. Just like May was, July has been a very busy month for me when it comes to newborn sessions. I only take on 4-5 newborn sessions a month (2-3 in the fall) but it never fails - even if due dates are spread apart, babies always arrive within days of each other. If you are thinking about booking a newborn session for anytime this year, I would highly recommend booking very soon as those spots fill up quickly.

I met this sweet family earlier this summer for Jasmine's maternity session. The babies gender was a surprise, so I was so excited to hear that she had a baby girl to join big sister Camille; there is just something special about the bond between sisters. We started the session with big brother Oliver giving his baby sister a bottle; such a sweet candid moment. After some family shots I got little Lyla all to myself, and she was a absolute dream. I could wrap, unwrap, tuck here and there and she stayed fast asleep the whole time, such a little doll. Jasmine and Neil, thank you so much for having me photograph this special time for your family. Wishing you all the very best as a family of 5. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Milestone Photographer {Brooklyn 6 months} Sneak Peek

Baby's first year goes by so fast and I am honoured to get the opportunity of capturing this fleeting year for so many families. 6 month sessions are some of my favorites, because they are full of sweet smiles and little milestones like touching toes and rolling over.

 After braving some light rain in the pretty green space behind the family's home, I incorporated some props from Brooklyn's newborn session into some shots in the family's newly finished walkout basement, such a beautiful space. Little Brooklyn was so full of smiles, such a tiny little thing but still reaching all the sweet 6 month milestones like reaching for her little toes. I can't wait to see this family again in the fall and again early next year for Brooklyn's 1 year session. Sarah and Mark, it has been so nice getting to know you, thank you for having me capture these precious memories for you. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Laila} Sneak Peek

 I am slowly getting all caught up on session galleries and blog sneak peeks. Summers are when I like to spend some quality time with family, so some editing time gets traded in for some fun in the sun while schools out. If you are still waiting, thank you so much for your patience.

I feel like I have known this beautiful family for so long, Chelsea felt like a longtime friend from the time I met her for her maternity session earlier this summer after all of the chatting we did leading up to her session dates. Little Laila made an early arrival and had to spend an extra few days in the NICU which unfortunately made it impossible to do a fresh 48 session we had planned; I was so happy to hear when she was home and I could finally meet her. This session was so full of pure love, so many hugs and kisses, my heart was just melting with every shot. And when we moved onto some simple posed shots, Laila was an absolute doll. Chelsea and Tareq, thank you both so much for the opportunity to capture your family during this very special time. Wishing you all the best as a family of 4. Enjoy. {K}
