Edmonton Family Photographer {Voss Family} Sneak Peek

Summers are here which means fun days in the sun with my girls and busy nights photographing beautiful families. Sneak peeks might take a couple days longer and blog posts might be few weeks behind, but I only have 9 good summers left with my almost 9 year old so summers means lots of family time and no work until everyone is in bed. I am hoping to fill up my remaining July & August openings so that we can plan our summer a little bit, July and August newborn and family sessions are now $50 off if booked before June 30. Contact me for more info or join my VIP page to be the first to see my online booking tool launching later this week.

I have a special place in my heart for families I photograph with three kids like me, maybe because I know how busy their lives are and how much work it takes to get organized for family photos. I had the pleasure of meeting this gorgeous family a couple falls ago, and this year we battled the mosquitos for a summer family session. As much as I love fall colors, I adore the lush green backdrop of summer sessions, everything just pops., especially blues and purples like the the girls sweet lilac dresses. We were lucky to end the session in the creek in one of my favourite locations, Whitemud creek, I just love capturing the candid moments that come with kids being able to throw some rocks in the water. Voss family, thank you for hanging out with me again another year and choosing me as your family photographer, it was wonderful seeing you all again. Enjoy. {K}

March is right around the corner, which means spring is almost here, almost! As much as I love winter, there usually comes a point in February where I've just had enough. I can't wait for warmer weather and longer days when I can get out and do more sessions outside. Spring mini sessions in the cherry blossoms will be happening in May again this year, be sure to join my VIP group on Facebook for the first chance at bookings, last year's sessions sold out in hours. My summer availability is also booking up really fast, so don't wait to book your grad photos or summer family photos.

I met this beautiful family a couple weeks ago, after Sarah contacted me to photograph her family while she was in Edmonton visiting from out of province. It was too cold to head outside,  but luckily her parents have a light filled front room that was perfect for some family portraits. Sweet little Ella wasn't too sure about being the centre of attention, but nothing a few gold fish crackers couldn't fix. 2018 is going to be an amazing year for this family, with a new baby due in the spring and a summer wedding. Ng fmaily, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture your family. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy {K}

Edmonton Family Photographer {H Family} Sneak Peek

This year one of my biggest goals this year was to try and find balance, and most of all to be present for my girls every day. Last year I shot over 100 sessions and by December I was completely depleted and wondering how on earth the year went by so fast. So far this year I have set aside specific times a day for editing, so that I am never stuck in front of my computer for 12 hours straight. Also because I raised my pricing to a sustainable level, you can see my 2018 pricing here, I have been able to take on a number of sessions per month that let me support my family financially but also give me the flexibility I need to be present for my girls. Two weeks in and I have found time to work out again, I have spent quality time with my family everyday and I have my new home studio space all planned out  -  I have never felt better. Sneak peeks might take a little longer, blog posts a bit later, and three-four weeks might become the standard turn around time, but know that you will be dealing with a much more pleasant  and attentive photographer who isn't running on empty anymore.

I have been photographing this wonderful family for the past three years and I was so happy when they won my last family session giveaway - it seriously couldn't have gone to a more deserving family. This year, each grand mother joined us and we ended up with the most beautiful winter day, it couldn't have been more perfect, I mean the light was just gorgeous. H Family, it is always such a pleasure, thank you for choosing me to be your family photographer. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Family Photographer {S Family} Sneak Peek

Kelsie Kelly Photographer is growing. I have been so lucky to be a newborn and family photographer for the past three years; but while I have been so busy from the beginning, I have not built a business that can remain sustainable for years to come. Deciding to start a photography business came from my love of both children and photography, but was also the best way for me to provide for my family while still being present for my three girls. In the past year, sadly, I have not been there for my girls as much as I want, all while not really providing an income that can support my family. So I came a turning point and decided now was the best time to raise my prices. I am still and will always be an all inclusive photographer, I love giving you all of the special memories I create for your family, but it will be at a price that will keep my business sustainable long term. You can see my new pricing here.

I have some other exciting news to announce as well. In the spring of 2018 I will be opening my new home based studio where I will be offering mini posed newborn sessions, as well as milestone sessions up to age one. My husband is busy drawing up plans for all of my prop storage and backdrops;  I can't wait to share the progress with you in the new year. A new website is coming in January and galleries are once again going to be delivered on a USB. I am also so excited to be offering professional quality prints and custom albums that will be available to order directly from your online gallery. I think 2018 will be my best year yet!

A big reason that my business has been so busy the past three years is because of amazing families like this one that come back to me year after year and pass my name of to all of their friends. I photographed Najla and Geoff for maternity photos in this same spot the very first time I did fall mini sessions a few years ago. Now they are proud parents to busy little Aiden, who definitely doesn't want to sit still for photos now, but who is just the most adorable little guy ever. Najla and Geoff, thank you so much for choosing me as your family photographer, it has been so wonderful getting to know you. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Extended Family Photographer {W Family} Sneak Peek

Sitting in my office staring at the snow covered pine trees it is hard to believe we were enjoying the fall colors just a few weeks ago. Winter showed up fast this year I think it is definitely here to stay - I am not a huge fan of the cold temps but I do love the snow and so do my kids. This cold weather made me realize that I am so behind on blogging! October was such a busy month, but I am finally at a point that I think I might get caught up! Starting with two blog posts today!

Extended family sessions are so special to me as I know that sometimes these are the last photos families have of everyone together and that they become photos that are so cherished for many years to come. I met this wonderful family a few weeks ago on a beautiful fall evening in Rundle Park. Watching this family of three gorgeous daughters, two with adorable little ones of their own, had me thinking about what my family might look like in 20 years with three daughters of my own - hopefully as happy as this one. Thank you all for having me capture these special memories for you. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy. {K}
