Edmonton Newborn & Maternity Photographer {Trinity} Sneak Peek

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. I had a very busy one, teaching a Lightroom class Saturday and today welcoming nine beautiful families into my home for Easter Mini sessions in my brand new in home studio. There is still some work to be done, but with the help of my amazing husband I was able to get my studio just ready enough for this weekend. I will continue to offer on location in home newborn sessions and family sessions as always, but am happy to also offer milestone mini sessions, mini newborn sessions, winter maternity sessions and special edition mini sessions in my studio space; watch for more details soon, as well as a grand opening celebration some time this spring. If you are expecting this summer or fall and would like more information (including pricing) on my studio newborn sessions please contact me. I have spent the last several months educating myself on newborn safety and studio posing and I can't wait to do my first newborn session in my studio. I will be announcing a model call very soon on in my VIP group, so be sure to join and add your friends who are expecting a little one soon too!

I have been lucky to know Trinity for many years, we worked at two companies together before I started my photography business and she started her own company Hoot Events, so I was so happy to hear the news that her and her husband would be expecting their first baby this spring. I always like to book sessions on daylights savings as I seem to luck out with the most gorgeous light every time, and I got lucky once again last weekend. Trinity was absolutely glowing and baby was really active the whole time which made for some really sweet moments. We started the session cozy inside the Mosaic centre then trudged through some deep snow for some outdoor shots in the golden light, so worth it! Trinity & Hugh thank you so much for choosing me to capture this special time. Looking forward to meeting your little guy in a few short weeks. All the best. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Maternity Photographer {Lisa} Sneak Peek

Where did this month go? Seriously, just over a week away from Christmas and so close to a new year. If you are still looking for a last minute perfect gift (I sure have a lot of shopping still to do) the gift of photography is the perfect option for your parents, your wife or a sibling expecting in the new year or who is due for family photos. Gift certificates are available in any denomination, will be packaged beautifully and delivered in time for Christmas, and are 15% off..until tomorrow. I have two more sessions and a handful to edit, then I am on holidays starting on the 23rd while my girls are on break from school. Thanks so much to everyone who has made this year on of my most successful, I sincerely love being your family photographer.

This month has been back to back to back maternity sessions, which is so exciting because it means I will be snuggling lots of squishy little babies in the new year, the best job ever especially over our long cold winter. Lisa was absolutely glowing when I met her and her sweet little family earlier this month. I recently added some maternity gowns to my props, and Lisa was the first to wear the beautiful white lace gown, which looked just stunning on her. She was seriously goddess like when I shot the images of her in the bath tub, completely over the head adorable little Maci who was definitely wondering why mommy was wearing a dress in the tub! Lisa and Byron, it was so lovely meeting you all. I can't wait to hear the news baby has arrived in the new year and see if Maci has a little sister or a little brother joining her. Wishing you all the best and a very merry Christmas. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Maternity Photographer {Jyoti Sneak Peek}

I can't believe we are already half way through September (and on another note that we have already seen snow) My busiest time of year is here and that means lots of sneak peeks from fall mini sessions on Facebook and Instagram, but less blog posts as I take on less newborn and maternity families in the fall. If you are expecting this winter though, or are looking to book winter family photos or an in home lifestyle session in winter 2017, now is definitely the time to book. I will be releasing winter mini session dates soon!

This gorgeous couple is expecting their first baby and I am so excited to have the opportunity to also do a fresh 48 session and newborn session for them very soon. I can't wait to hear the news that their baby boy has arrived. Jyoti looked absolutely stunning in her final weeks of pregnancy and the love between her and her husband was so beautiful and easy to capture, I can just imagine the joy in their eyes when they are looking at their new baby. Thank you both for this amazing opportunity to capture this special time in our lives. Wishing you all the best as you prepare for baby's arrival. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Maternity Photographer {Jennifer} Sneak Peek

It doesn't look much like spring this Easter weekend, but last weekend when I met the wonderful Graff family for Jennifer's maternity session the sun was shining and it felt amazing to finally get outside and kick off my busiest time of the year.  Jennifer was absolutely glowing surrounded by the love of her husband and son who are getting ready to have a little lady join the family later this spring. Big brother to be Austin was all smiles the whole session - I can't wait to capture that first big brother and baby sister shot once she arrives.

Jennifer and Mark, wishing you all the best in the coming weeks. I can't wait to hear the news that your baby girl is here. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Maternity Photographer {Sam} Sneak Peek

We have been so lucky to have a somewhat mild winter this year in Edmonton, so I have gotten to shoot more gorgeous golden hour maternity sessions in the snow than usual. Sam looked absolutely stunning for expecting a baby boy in just a few short weeks and Ryker the dog looked all set to take on big brother duties. I always get asked if it's ok to bring pets to your sessions and the answer is always 100% yes! Pets are part of the family and always add so much charm to a session, plus I love getting a few belly rubs in at the end. Getting a dog to look at the camera is {not surprisingly} easier than getting the attention of most toddlers! S & C it was so wonderful meeting you all. Wishing you all the best as you welcome your first baby. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Maternity Photographer {Souphatra} Sneak Peek

I was thrilled when Souphatra contacted me to take some last minute photos of her in her very last weeks of pregnancy and asked if we could do the session in her home. Of course I was happy to be inside as it was a very chilly weekend, but being in home gave us the opportunity to do some bare belly shots that turned out simply beautiful - Souphatra you were absolutely stunning. I can't wait to meet your baby boy in the next couple weeks. Wishing you both all the best as you prepare to welcome your first born. Enjoy. {K}
