I know that there will be so many small businesses offering amazing deals, so I thank you so much in advance if you choose to support my small business. Don’t forget when you shop local you are supporting families in your community. There are big changes coming in 2022 which I can’t wait to share, but which I can tell you will include some pricing changes, so book now to take advantage of this year's packages. My plans for 2022 aren’t just to raise prices, but to offer my wonderful clients the most amazing experience possible from flexible packages, beautiful exclusive printed products, and hopefully a brand new space - more details to come soon!

Now that everything has slowed down a bit I can finally get caught up and share some of my favorite newborn and family sessions of 2021. I am so grateful to all of the families who trusted me to capture this fleeting time for their family even as we continued to live with COVID. Now that I am fully vaccinated and the majority of Albertans are I can’t wait to get back to normal, even if normal means I will always wear a mask when I safely photograph your family. I met this lovely couple for the first time on a beautiful summer night and Sandra looked absolutely stunning in her floral dress and a couple pieces from my maternity wardrobe. I will sure miss the long summer nights when we could go to a couple different locations and not worry about losing the sun. Devon is my hometown and we are sure lucky to have so many gorgeous locations a short drive away, including one of the best spots along the North Saskatchewan River.

A few short weeks later this couple was now a family of three and they brought sweet little Sawyer to my studio for his newborn photos. I have noticed most babies I have photographed during COVID times have been feistier than usual, so when this little man arrived so sleepy and chill I thanked my lucky stars and did a session flow of my dreams. Studio sessions usually start with “mug shots” of baby, and detail shots, even when babies are awake I can still usually get some of my client’s favorite shots. Those shots will usually tire baby out and we will move into parent shots - which as you will see started with the sweetest little grin. I always try and pose baby in bucket but it’s not always comfortable for baby and I never force them into it, but again this was my lucky day and we got one of my favorite bucket shots ever which I now have printed in my studio. Have I mentioned yet that this family booked my first year package? So on top of maternity and newborn photos I will also photograph baby Sawyer when he is sitting (usually 6-9 months) and again just before his first birthday. Then on his birthday I will deliver his first year album featuring the best photos of his first year. Such a perfect way to create a heirloom keepsake for your baby. I can’t wait to see how much he’s grown the next time I see him, baby’s first year is so fleeting. Sandra and Larry thank you so much for choosing me to capture your beautiful family, I look forward to seeing you and baby Sawyer again soon and wish you all the best.

Hard to believe it is nearly October. This month always flies by fast and before I know it I will be busy preparing for Christmas. Thank you so much to all the wonderful families who chose me tho photograph their families this fall, it has been my busiest ever and I am so happy that the fall colours cooperated this year, even if it has been a bit on the chilly side. I have a feeling we are going to have a lovely October, so if you are looking to book a last minute fall session I still have a few October openings - check out my convenient online booking page here. With the snow in the forecast this past weekend my winter and studio Christmas minis are starting to book up, book your spot now!

I am always looking at ways to make the experience you have from the time of booking to receiving your photos better and ensure that you are receiving the highest quality service and products. I would love to keep you posted, you can sign up for my brand new newsletter that will be going out soon. You’ll receive session tips, styling ideas, news and first chance at booking mini sessions and 2020 family sessions right in your inbox quarterly.

I met this sweet couple in Mill Creek Ravine this summer who were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby, not knowing yet if they would have a boy or a girl. Little Emma arrived soon after and the biggest surprise of all was her gorgeous full head of hair. As a mama to babies who were born with peach fuzz I am always amazed when newborns are born with so much hair, my curly haired 4 year old still hasn’t had her first haircut. Emma was just a little doll for her session, and looked so beautiful in my favorite color purple. Ben and Kristie, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture this special time for your family. Wishing you all the best as a family of 3 (or 4 with Miss Lucy). Enjoy! {K}

It’s officially summer and the kick off to a very busy 5 months for me! My summer newborn openings are nearly full and summer family sessions are booking fast - and PS only ONE September family session opening left! I would love to see your family this year and give you an amazing photography experience. Contact me today or visit my online booking page to book your 2019 family session. So many July babies coming soon but first a quick family trip down to beautiful Montana to celebrate July 4th with our American family and photograph my beautiful cousin’s senior portraits! Can’t wait to share my favorite moments when we get back! Loving the new Squarespace app that is giving me the opportunity to write this post on the road, so flippin’ convenient!

June was the month of tiny tiny babies! Miss Kaya was one of three healthy 5 lb. newborns I was lucky to photograph this month; I wonder if the streak will continue in July! So so teeny tiny! The Sotto family has been with me since welcoming their first son a couple years ago and I was so happy when they asked me to capture their baby girl. Big brother Miguel and baby Kaya sure made me work for every shot but with patience I created some lasting memories for this gorgeous family. Fedilisa and Marvin, thank you so much for choosing me as your family photographer and having me capture the beautiful story of welcoming Kaya to the world. Wishing you all the best as a family of four. Enjoy {K}

Yes! Spring is finally here and I think I can finally put my winter coat and boots away (fingers crossed!). Spring means booking season for me and my summer and fall 2018 are booking up incredibly fast - you all seriously blow me away with your support - thank you. If you are expecting this year, looking to have family or extended family photos this summer or fall, now is definitely the time to book. If mini sessions are your jam, I have a few more cherry blossom  spring mini session openings;  to see openings or book your spot visit the link just below. I am so looking forward to getting back outside for more sessions, I seriously live for golden light and now is the perfect time of year to enjoy it before the mosquitos arrive and the nights get too late for little ones.

I met this gorgeous family a couple weeks ago now, hard to believe there was still snow on the ground. Brittany was absolutely glowing and had just the most perfect little baby bump I think I've ever seen, and big brother to be was such a little charmer, I can't wait to photograph him with his baby brother or sister. The early spring sunset gave us the most beautiful light and made up for the bare trees and the snow covered ground in one of my favorite spots for sessions, Devon Voyageur Park. Brittany and Adam, thank you so much for having me capture this special time for you. Looking forward to the arrival of your little one later this spring. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Newborn & Maternity Photographer {Trinity} Sneak Peek

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. I had a very busy one, teaching a Lightroom class Saturday and today welcoming nine beautiful families into my home for Easter Mini sessions in my brand new in home studio. There is still some work to be done, but with the help of my amazing husband I was able to get my studio just ready enough for this weekend. I will continue to offer on location in home newborn sessions and family sessions as always, but am happy to also offer milestone mini sessions, mini newborn sessions, winter maternity sessions and special edition mini sessions in my studio space; watch for more details soon, as well as a grand opening celebration some time this spring. If you are expecting this summer or fall and would like more information (including pricing) on my studio newborn sessions please contact me. I have spent the last several months educating myself on newborn safety and studio posing and I can't wait to do my first newborn session in my studio. I will be announcing a model call very soon on in my VIP group, so be sure to join and add your friends who are expecting a little one soon too!

I have been lucky to know Trinity for many years, we worked at two companies together before I started my photography business and she started her own company Hoot Events, so I was so happy to hear the news that her and her husband would be expecting their first baby this spring. I always like to book sessions on daylights savings as I seem to luck out with the most gorgeous light every time, and I got lucky once again last weekend. Trinity was absolutely glowing and baby was really active the whole time which made for some really sweet moments. We started the session cozy inside the Mosaic centre then trudged through some deep snow for some outdoor shots in the golden light, so worth it! Trinity & Hugh thank you so much for choosing me to capture this special time. Looking forward to meeting your little guy in a few short weeks. All the best. Enjoy. {K}
