Edmonton Maternity & Newborn Photographer {Baby Kensingnton}

Well with freezing temps this week it looks like the beautiful fall weather has finally come to an end. I have a few more family sessions to shoot and I will be in touch with each family with the option to shoot in studio or home if it does end up to be too cold to shoot your session outside. Crossing my fingers this means that we will have lots of snow for winter family mini sessions coming up on November 15. My 2020 family session dates are officially fully booked but you can still book winter minis or studio Christmas Portrait minis online now.

Now that my busy fall rush is coming to an end I will have a bit more time to catch up on some blog posts that I didn’t get to this past year. Before COVID hit I was photographing so many newborns that I didn’t have time to feature them all. Hope you enjoy all the adorable squishy newborn goodness coming your way.

I’ve known this beautiful family for a few years now after meeting them when big brother Maverick was born. Miss Kensington arrived just before Christmas and was my last newborn session before enjoying the holidays with my family. Hard to believe a year has almost past and I will be shooting her 1st birthday session soon. 10 lbs. of pure adorable squish, Kensington was an angel for her session and so full of adorable gassy grins. Michelle & Christopher thank you so much for choosing me to be your family photographer, it has been wonderful getting to know you all and watch your family grow.

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Bennett} Sneak Peek

I am blogging, I know, I know, it’s been MONTHS! This fall was my busiest fall yet and for that I am so thankful. This year I saw so many of you for the second or third time and it really felt like I was photographing my dear friends, not clients. Thank you so much for your continued support. I almost haven’t stopped this fall (with the exception of an amazing family vacation and a much needed photography retreat just last week - post to come soon!) but I have been busy doing a job that I love and I will never take for granted how lucky I am to be your photographer. There is so much coming up in the next couple of weeks, be sure to join my VIP facebook group so you don’t miss out on some amazing promotions, announcements (online gift card ordering soon!) and giveaway.

I am so happy that this beautiful family contacted me just before their baby boy was due to arrive and I was able to fit them in last minute. I do take a limited number of newborn families each month, but never hesitate to contact me if booking a newborn photographer slipped your mind until baby is almost due or arrived, I can usually fit you in. I was welcomed into their gorgeous light filled home by the most wonderful big brother and sister, so excited to introduce me to their new baby brother Bennett. I am sure that I have a special place in my heart for families of five because I have three girls myself, but these sessions never fail to have so much emotion and love that I just melt. Third babies are often the last, and knowing that I am capturing such a special time for families is so heart warming. Evan & Natalie, thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture these memories for you. Wishing you the very best with three little ones to love. Enjoy {K}.

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Eddie} Sneak Peek

I can't believe we are already in the last week of July, this summer is flying by way too fast! Headed over the canola fields just outside of town this evening to snap some photos of my girls, such a pretty Alberta summer landscape but they come and go in a matter of weeks. Still looking to book a summer family session - perhaps in the canola fields? I have 4 openings left in July & August and at $50 off they will book up quickly. I also announced in my previous post that I will not be hosting fall mini sessions this year - I did however add a couple weekend spots in mid September and early October that I am sure won't last long. Book your session now with my easy online booking tool - just click the button below.

I have been fortunate to meet so many brand new babies this July and little Eddie was one of my first. I just love meeting new parents, and this couple was just glowing with happiness and love for their first born and each other in their new roles as parents. My wrapping skills have definitely reached a high level after nearly 100 newborn sessions and I always giggle a little inside when new parents ask where to buy the wraps and watch intently as I wrap their little ones - Andrea & Blair hope some wrapping tips helped you get a good night's sleep after our session! Sweet little Eddie was just a dream to capture and I had the prettiest light to work with in the lower level of the family's beautiful home. Andrea & Blair thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture this special time for your family.  Wishing you all the best as family of three. Enjoy! {K}

Edmonton Newborn Photographer {Baby Ava} Sneak Peek

This month has sure flown by. October to Christmas seems to just fly by for my family every year, my middle daughter's birthday is at the end of the month and it always just seems to come out of nowhere - hard to believe she is already turning 5. Her birthday coincides with my favorite shopping day of the year - the perfect day to get all of your Christmas shopping done - Black Friday! Keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram later this week to score the best deal on a 2018 session with me or to save on gift certificates which make the perfect gift for parents/grandparents for an extended family session or couples that are expecting in the new year.

I met this stunning family for a late fall maternity session and had such a lovely time capturing them I couldn't wait for their newborn session. It is so true that your heart just continues to grow with each new baby, and with four now, sweet little Ava was surrounded by so much love for her newborn photos. Watching all three of the sweetest kids just adore their baby sister absolutely melted my hear, and Ava was just an angel for the whole session. Jill & Boris, thank you again for inviting me into your home having me capture this special time. Wishing you all the best as a family of six.

Edmonton & Area Newborn Photographer {Baby Arianna} Sneak Peek

I met this beautiful family on a gorgeous summer day a couple of weeks ago now. When I arrived Grandma was busy chasing around big brother Matthias and mom was feeding little Arianna while dad finished getting everything ready, a typical morning when there is a new baby. Little Arianna arrived at a very busy time as her aunt was to be married the coming weekend. Such a joyous time for the whole family.

Once everyone was ready to go we hopped onto the master bed for some family shots. Matthias was so sweet and gentle with his new sister, and so full of smiles for me. Little Arianna drifted off to sleep just in time for some shots with mom and dad and on her own. We got through the first few posed shots of her and then that was enough for this little lady. You never know if baby will last a whole session after one feed, or need to be fed a few times to settle, which is why I always allow 2-3 hours for my newborn sessions. In the end we got some sweet shots of mom and Arianna in her gorgeous nursery and memories I hope that this family will cherish for years to come. Michael and Amanda, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to photograph this special time. Wishing you all the best as a family of four. Enjoy. {K}
